Australian Lynette MacKenzie moves into round three after a strong backhand performance in the punchy 4-5 ft waves. Punchy 4-5 ft (1.5m) waves were on offer, as hundreds of spectators came out to enjoy the show. Despite rain clouds surrounding the venue, sunshine highlighted the surfing action. Lynette MacKenzie (Maroubra, Aus) took out the heat ahead of France's Marie Pierre-Abgrall, and together they eliminated former world #2 Melanie Redman-Carr (West Australia). MacKenzie found some open faces to work with, locking in a couple of good scores on her backhand and moved into round three. "It was good to finally surf a heat after waiting the past few days," said MacKenzie. "We paddled out in the water the other day before they called it off, but it's all part of it here in France, as you never know what's going to happen with the weather. It was a bit of hard work today, but there were some waves and at least it finally ran." Another decision will be made tomorrow morning as to the schedule of remaining round of the Roxy Pro France.
